Mizan Privacy Policy

Mizan ("we", "us") is a barcode scanner that scores packaged food and supplements. This policy explains what the app stores, what it sends to our servers, and what it never does.

1. What stays on your phone

Your goal (Cut, Maintain, Bulk), language, units, ingredient flags, scan history and recent searches are stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app deletes them. They are never uploaded.

The food diary is stored only on your device too: the foods you log for each meal, your own foods, your weigh-ins, and the details used for your daily target (sex, age, height, weight, target weight, activity level). They are never uploaded or shared, and uninstalling the app deletes them.

2. Camera

The camera is used to read barcodes and, only when you choose to add a product, to photograph its label. Nothing is recorded or uploaded while you scan. Barcodes you scan are looked up in our product database and in Open Food Facts; the lookup contains the barcode only.

3. Account

You do not need an account to use Mizan. On first launch the app creates an anonymous account ID (a random identifier from Firebase Authentication) so that your contributions and your Mizan Pro subscription can be recognised. Optionally you can sign in with Google; we then receive your Google account name and email address, used only to credit your contributions and to keep Pro on your devices.

4. What you share

When you add or report a product, the front photo, the nutrition values you typed, and your report are added to the shared Mizan product database, linked to your anonymous account ID. They contain no personal details and are visible to other users as product data.

5. Subscriptions

Mizan Pro is sold through Google Play Billing on Android and the App Store on iOS. The store processes the payment; we receive only the purchase state (active, trial, expired) and never your payment details.

6. No ads, no selling

Mizan shows no ads and does not sell, rent or share personal data with third parties. We use Google Firebase (authentication and database) and Google Play services to run the app. No analytics or advertising SDKs are included.

7. Deleting your data

Profile → Delete account removes your account, your sign-in and your Pro link from our servers. Product data you contributed stays in the shared database, without any link to you. Data on your phone is removed by uninstalling the app. You can also request deletion by email; see Delete your Mizan account.

8. Children

Mizan is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
